Terms, Orders and Refunds
Orders
Everything is made fresh to order in small batches. When you order, we buy ingredients and schedule your batch. Your order is confirmed once payment has gone through and you’ve received your order reference.
Lead time
Orders take about a week from order to collection or delivery. You’ll choose a preferred date at checkout. If we can’t make that date, we’ll contact you to arrange another — we’re a one-person kitchen and dates can occasionally shift around other commitments.
Changes and cancellations
You can cancel or change your order free of charge up to 24 hours before your collection or delivery date. Email hello@rootsandspices.co.nz with your order reference.
Within 24 hours of your date, we can’t offer a refund. By then ingredients have been bought and your order is being made.
We also can’t refund an order simply because you’ve changed your mind after it’s been made — everything is made to order and can’t be resold.
If something is wrong
If your order arrives damaged, isn’t what you ordered, or isn’t up to standard, tell us within 24 hours of receiving it and we’ll refund or replace it. Photos help but aren’t essential. This is separate from the cancellation terms above, and nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Collection and delivery
Collection details are arranged directly with you. Delivery is within Auckland: $6 for central and west, $10 for the North Shore and south from Papakura. Delivery is free on orders of $60 or more. We’ll contact you to arrange a delivery window.
Allergens
Our products contain tree nuts, sesame and milk. Everything is made in a kitchen that also handles wheat. Full ingredients and allergens are listed on each product page. Please read them before ordering, and get in touch if you’re unsure.
Storage
Storage instructions and a best-within date are on each product page. We can’t take responsibility for products that haven’t been stored as directed.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars.
